I'm sub'd to your build. I expect the same from your truck. :D

    Thanks.

The heim steering is LEGIT!!! Those links are solid, way thicker than I expected (I know I know...."that's what she said").

    Alright...end of weekend update.

Got the rear diff put back in. The rear end is pretty much all tied up except for installing the new brake line. I won't replace the rear line until I do the front LT (which has new brake lines as well.) I'm a lazy asshole and I only want to bleed my brakes once. Also got the rear spacers put on. Glamour shot

The new navi I ordered went in the Tundra. The Tacoma got the leftovers, but I don't mind. Pioneer Avic-F90BT is now installed.

Lastly, the TC coil bucket gussets. What a giant PITA. Grinding for days to get those things to fit correctly. That compounded with the fact that I'm far from a good welder. I can stick two pieces of metal together but not with the pretties of welds. Whatever, I'm a little anoyed with those things and just glad to be done with them. Fortunatly I have no motor in the truck at the moment, so I was able to weld both sides.

thanks! so on the coil bucket gussets people usually only weld one side because they cant get to the other side correct?

Negative. I jacked my truck all the way up. At full droop I disconnected both shocks and they extended another inch. Right now the springs are doing the limiting so the rear limit straps became a back burner project.

Correct. I ordered the TC guessets cause I just did all the ordering at once from the same vendor. If I had to do it all over again, I'd suggest the Solo Motorsport gussets. They are multiple pieces so I imagine you won't have to do nearly as much fitment griding.

Currently 12th-14th. I might shoot down there on the 11th, but not sure yet. For sure the 12th. And yes...I turn 30

Alright, here's a little update for all you late night popcorn eaters.

    I GOT A FUCKING ENGINE!!!!!

    I feel much better.

Picked it up on the way home and so far so good. This thing is CLEAN. I swear it looks like it was just steam cleaned. Compression tested out at exaclty 170 across all 6 cylinders which is...well...perfect.

    IMG_0796_aa478b0d6c8eb9983ab689878c6bd91b05e22d02.jpg

And a quick picture of the twins

    IMG_0800_cdb72049df8dafeef5982ad7218d24a2941d2129.jpg

The motor is litterally ready to drop in. I COULD have used the wiring harness on it. Turns out it was the same one my truck had, but my harness is already tapped and soldered for the URD kit (and I labeled everything) so I'm going to swap harnesses over.

Also the oil pan from the new motor was from a 4wd so I didn't have to swap mine over, but it was beat to shit pretty bad and I really wanted to doublecheck the oil pickup tube and make sure it wasn't damaged. So I pulled the oil pan off my old motor and all I have to say about that is HOLY SHIT. I found baby pieces of connecting rod bouncing around in there, the crank cover was all fucked up. And the rod had damn near poked a hole in the oil pan. It looked a bit sketchy so I ended up laying a couple small beads of weld down on the oil pan just to make sure it wasn't going to leak under pressure. This ended up being the better of the two oil pans.

Oh an after dropping the pan and giving it a nice inspection, I was wrong. It wasn't running on 5 cylinders...it was running on 4!!!

Not one but two connecting rods were completely obliterated. And yet somehow, I still got the damn thing to start. How's that for Toyota engineering. My v6 turned into...well...a v4 actually.

Some close up of the oil pan carnage and the crap floating around.

It pretty much felt like broken glass too. Quit litterally they shattered. I've certainly never seen anything like that before (in person anyhow).

My neighbor strolled over cause he saw sparks coming out of my garage and figured I was up to no good. He stuck his head under the motor and said "Yup...you pretty much fucked that motor up." I think he summed it up well.
