Good idea on leaf refurbishing, they ride so smooth. Plus for carrying such little weight it rides great with the 50t's

Well with RelentlessTaco's new found line of Rampage LED lighting, it was just a matter of time before I caved in and started looking at roof light bars. I bit the bullet and picked up a 40" radius dual row bar during the group buy. I'm a hard person to impress...and I gotta say these things are just fucking rediculous.

Eric already had a mount designed for the first gens and the radius bar, but it was a little too tall for my liking. I was looking for something more low profile and inline with the windshield/roof lines. A few mock up measurements and Eric did his thing. Mounts are cut out of 12 gauge. Each mount has two holes that were mounted to the cab. We drilled 2 holes on each side of the cab. Conviently where we drilled in the cab is actually two separate layers of sheetmetal. Combine that with rivnuts, the mount is not going anywhere!!

Blah blah blah...too long, didn't read. Here's the pictures.

    Nearly zero whistling.

Eric's other mount that sits higher on the roof line has holes/dimple dies in it has different sounds depending on the angle of the light and how fast you are going. With this new low profile mount, the ONLY time I got any sound out of it at all was at 35 mph with a hefty cross wind. As soon as the cross wind stopped, no more whistle.

You're one to talk about paint jobs. ;)

I've never been good with the Martha Stuart shit. The hood is rattle canned flat black. It serves its purpose, which is all I care about.

Soooo yeah...shackles. For those of you just joining the party...I've now been through two sets of shackles. First set came with the truck, the Giant POS shackles. Those were crap. They cycled like shit and started to bend. The second set were 4130 TC shackles. Much better...but through poor prepping on my part combined with spirited driving...I ovaled them out along with bending most the bolts and sleeves.

So now what you say? Enter Landon (Supermoto). I explain my history with shackles. He first makes fun of me for still being leaf sprung...and then brags he can build jberry proof shackles........

Let's start by saying...the fucking things weigh 6.5 pounds of 4130 beef. The base plate is 3/16". The tube (round and square) is all .120 wall. The square tube gussets are 3/16. Sleeves inside the round tube are all 1/4". And the bottom parts are built out to match the pivot width. There's 7/8" of metal on the top holes and 1.25" on the bottom. If i oval these...I deserve to be punched in the dick. This all paired with 4130 sleeves and F911 bolts.

Blah blah blah...too long didn't read...show me the fucking pics. HUGE props to Landon for the new shackles. The fucking frame will bend before these will.

If trophy trucks had leaf springs, these are the shackles they would have:
