So I was going to go with Pelfrey but that's not happening.

I did find a 1/4" aluminium TRD bling plate for cheap which will suffice for now and replace the thin steel stone guards.

Sitting is a corner along with the back panel and the bin that lined the storage area.

Yesterday. along with some "why not" painting of interior trim pieces since I had to take them off anyway. Color does not match but I'm more surprised that there's no visible runs.

I did forget to buy Ram mounts though.

Today, a battery install. I went with a Odyssey 31M Battery and the HK-PC2150 hold down kit.
    IMG_20180927_104806.jpg

The first step was partially assembling and placing the hold down kit to check fit and alignment. Using the holes in the back of the base plate, marks were placed on the sheet metal with a sharpie.
    IMG_20181007_094328.jpg

The mount was removed and disassembled. The marks on the sheet metal and the features of the chassis base plate were copied onto tracing paper. The horizontal line you see to the right of the second largest hole marks a limit for the plusnuts. Past that line towards the relay and fuze box there isn't enough space to place a plusnut.
    IMG_20181007_095824.jpg

Tracing paper was then taped to the battery mounting plate using the original 4 marks as a guide.
    IMG_20181007_100144.jpg

    Marking and drilling pilot holes.
    IMG_20181007_100804.jpg

Using the pilot holes in the base plate as a guide to drill holes in the chassis base plate. Locking the plate in place by dropping a bolt into each hole as it was drilled.
    IMG_20181007_102430.jpg

We're good! Absolutely paranoid about screwing up this part
    IMG_20181007_103024.jpg

Drill out the pilot holes for the plusnuts, mask and paint.
    MVIMG_20181007_105429.jpg

While that's drying. Drill out and countersink the base plate.
    IMG_20181007_111058.jpg

So. Plusnuts. Why? Original plan was to use rivnuts however an 8M rivenut has a pullout strength of about 500lbs. An 80 pound battery in a 45 MPH (66 ft/second) accident is going to have a lot of momentum. So. Plusnut install. An 8M plusnut has a pullout strength of about 1,675 lbs. 5 of them should be enough to withstand a 45mph collision.
    IMG_20181007_120438.jpg

Assemble and mount the battery holder.
    MVIMG_20181007_121531.jpg

    Checking the clearance.
    IMG_20181007_124652.jpg

    And we're done!
    IMG_20181007_130650.jpg

Took about 5 hours. I have the Slee negative battery terminal. That's for another day and another project. You can see the prep for it in the top plate of the battery mount.

If this isn't for you. Adventure Wired offers a Stainless Steel Group 31 Hold Down Bracket and J hooks that uses the factory J-hook holes.

Where you live? I'm gonna' come over there and do a Vulcan Mind Meld on you. I commend you conceptualization skills. I have been beating my brain trying to come up with a good design for platforms to replace the rear seat and back, and the front passenger seat. THIS is the way to do it. Thank you for posting this up. Amazing work. I am but an overland modding larvae at this point. You sir are a butterfly.

Great find on the bed rack. We have the same truck and I am pondering building up a drawer/bed system but only wanted to do so for half of the bed. My question is how much clearance do you have underneath the rack?? Hoping some old school milk crates would fit nicely underneath.

It was the lowest mod on my priority list but I got a great deal on the ARB snorkel. Couldn't pass.

10 3/4". Had to cut a center leg short so it would rest on top of the wheel well.

Mounted the FrontRunner roof rack directly to the ARE CX HD internal frame.

Made some Front Runner Rack stuff. Available here (rotopax mounts) and here (quick fist mounts). Should be able to mount them on any surface. The RotoPax mount? Really just useful for the Front Runner rack. The mounting plate that comes with the RotoPax mount will work elsewhere.

Alternatively I can remove the Quick Fist and use a locking pins as tie down points for light loads.
