Wondering if anyone else has had this problem. This has happened to me twice in the last week. Worried it will get more frequent.

    1. JBL unit on 2021 TRD Offroad
    2. Head unit boots up and plays the last station I had on at the volume I left it on when turned off
    3. Symptoms:
      • Can't change channel using channel knob or shortcut button on steering wheel
      • Similar on volume, cannot change volume
      • The display shows the channel and song playing (XM Radio), but it doesn't update with the next song.
First time it happened a few days ago, I pulled over, turned the truck off, restarted and it booted up fine.

Happened again on drive to work this morning. It is a short commute so I just lived with it.

I searched in other threads and couldn't find others with the same issue or at least not it being a regular thing.

Thank you. Please pardon this next question. I have always been under the impression though that even if you did not pay for the Toyota Connect services, Toyota has it activated for their own use only for the purpose of sending firmware updates. I haven't seen it for a while but I want to say in the first 1-2 years I owned the truck I saw messages to effect of "Update in progress". It typically didn't last longer than 1-2 minutes.

Maybe I am crazy though and I am imagining it.

As I recall, system firmware updates are not OTA...but I'm by no means an expert on the subject.
