    What’s up Taco peeps,
I’m new to this site and a new Taco owner as of this past January!!! I have to say that being a new Toyota owner is different for me because I’ve always been about American made vehicles, but not anymore!!! I love my Tacoma except for the JBL system???? I think for the 700.00+ option I got robbed!!!
So I tried upgrading the door speakers with the ones I pulled out of my old truck and now they cut out at all volume settings!!! The louder I turn it up the faster it cuts out!!! I’m very annoyed now because that means I have to spend more time and money to continue upgrading the sound! I’m about to get an interface (PAC Amp Pro AP4-TY12) so I can install my amp and subs while keeping factory head unit and all it’s functions! I’m looking for help or input on this issue please!!!

Might want to check that door sticker again... good chance it's still very much American.

You’re new speakers are going to cutout because the headunit does not have enough output power. Add an amplifier and properly set the gain to fix this issue.

EEEEEeeeyup. If I was going to buy my truck again, I think I'd ditch the premium, tech, and JBL crap and do it myself for a similar cost.

I eventually went a similar route to you. AmpPro, replaced all the door speakers, sound deadener, and added a real amp. Still running the stock head unit and sub. It's MUCH better, but still not where I want to be, just don't have the funds right now. Lots of good info about different ways people have gone about it in the Audio and Video forum.
