So I just got my 2020 Tacoma OR a couple weeks ago and wanted to switch the head unit with a better one. I also have the panoramic view cameras but when I search this site and others I cannot find anything in regards to keeping the Panoramic views while upgrading the head unit.

Has anyone here replaced the factory JBL head unit on a Tacoma and kept all functionality of the panoramic camera view? Is it even possible?

Any info would help and if someone's got any pictures that would help also.

My suggestion would be call Meastro/iDataLink directly and ask if they have anything in the works. They will most likely be the first to market with a solution.

Then maybe call PAC/AAMP of America and ask the same thing

So I just got off the phone with Crutchfield and asked this same question. According to them there is NO available wiring harness/head unit that can be installed to maintain the factory settings (panoramic camera, steering wheel controls) yet. They are looking into it since people have asked and the best answer I got was to wait about 6 months until they can figure something out if its possible. More info the the forum.

No luck at all. I traded my 2020 with the front camera for a '23 without so I can upgrade how I like.

    Hey mjc251.

Could you provide a link or part number for the Maestro harness you used to get the panoramic camera? I’m in the process of upgrading my head unit and would like to use the Pioneer DMH-WT3800NEX 9 inch but Crutchfield is saying it isn’t possible to keep the cameras. I showed them this thread and now they are curious about the harness you used and if it can be used on a Pioneer. Thanks man.

Did you keep all the functionality with the Kenwood? Along with the SOS feature? looking to upgrade my 2023 OR with JBL. and it seems Kenwood keeps the most features.

I used the TO3 harness with an RR2

I haven’t found anything missing at this point. Never used the SOS and it’s not freaking out on me so I’m gonna call it good.

I was looking at getting one with a 12” portrait screen, but can’t seem to find a way to make aftermarket head units work with the 360 cameras. Definitely going to follow this thread for a while.

I wouldn’t even mind replacing all 4 cameras with something higher resolution than the OEM ones.

I’m still poking and looking around for similar answers, but check out trail grid pro’s website. They seem to have a direct plug and play for a few alpine and Sony HU’s that seem to be pretty popular.

Is OEM audio plus worth the price tag?

For those who want to do the DIY route, I like what I’ve seen from them. That being said, I haven’t actually heard the system so I can’t speak for the value of it.

As for radio replacement, I can tell you that the Kenwood is AWESOME with the maestro setup! The wireless CarPlay for me is what’s worth it.

depends on your goals. but i also don't believe the oem audio system is compatible with the oem jbl system.

When you go into 4Lo do you still get the vehicle angles front facing camera view?

whoa!! I’ve never seen that… probably because I’ve never been in 4 lo.

But my guess would be yes since the maestro is just basically a pass through of video signal.

I can’t tell on your picture but is the back up camera and the quality better overall?
