Any one else have this problem where your radio just restarts out of nowhere while driving and music's on? Its only been a month since my purchase and I have the premium package that comes with the jbl radio. Any information about this is appreciated. Thanks

I have the same package and never had an issue...but I've heard many others talk of this and saying an update is needed.

Talked to the dealer yesterday about this while I was in for my 20k maintenance. They had been doing updates to fix the issue but bricked 4-5 radios so have been told to hold off until there is a new update. I should hopefully know more next week after they meet with the regional service manager.

Haven't happen to me yet but did plenty of times on my 14' 4runner Trail Premium. Just a simple Entune update will fix the issue. Hope this help. Good luck.

You can do software updates yourself. You don't need to take it to the dealer.

I have the JBL system also but haven't had any problems. Every other Toyota I've had with Entune has had the issue though.

Mine flipped out on me 3 times since early April. 2 of them happened after I updated my entune. The third which happened just recently was just random, so maybe it was a fluke. Just be sure to turn down your navi volume, it's the only setting that resets after the system hard restarts. Since I don't listen to none of that hip hop the navi voice is screaming at me compared to my music.

Where do you guys get these 'software updates' from and how can we check for current (besides calling Toyota) ?

That seems to update the App on the phone and transfers/updates the apps in the Entune but doesn't appear to do anything for the Entune software/firmware itself.

In the past, it seems we had to download a file onto a thumb drive and then manually initiate the update.
For now, my software *is* current so it's not an issue.

In testing, I did pair the Entune to the iPhone with the App. It did say required update and I performed it via the phone and Entune but when done the system information that shows software etc was all still the same as it was prior. That's why I dont think the Entune app affects the software levels within the Entune system, but I could be totally wrong.

It's not difficult to update Entune. Connect your device via a USB cable, open the Entune app the go to the settings on your radio.

Once you press Update if there's an update avalaible it will say so at the bottom right of the screen.

Apps-> setup -> general -> (scroll down to) software update-> update-> Update Software (if avalaible)
