My truck has the fancy JBL head unit and I need some assistance. ive tried piggy backing on other posts but haven't found help.

I don't live in a HD radio area so the apps on my radio don't function. I did however select the option to have the apps run off the data on my phone. That being said, nothing is working.

I do have the Entune app on my phone and it connects everytime I get in the truck.

weather app, Pandora, slacker, yelp etc.. none of them work unless im in HD area.

    Anyone have any input?

With the exception of weather, I do not believe any of those apps are using HD data streams. You do need to have a data connection to your carrier (ie 3G, 4G, LTE, etc) on your cell for them to work. Are you in a remote area?

I never hook mine up on usb and it works all the time. Is your phone' s bluetooth paired with the radio? Can you stream your mp3 files, or log in to Pandora/ Spotify on your phone and stream through the stereo without using Entune? The Entune app has to be running on your phone for the apps to work from the radio. What phone do you have?

Just giving you some things to try and assist myself and others in troubleshooting.

    Thanks Brother!

I am using last years iphone 6+, I can use Pandora via Bluetooth but that's all that gets used because the other apps are not functioning.

Ill make sure again that entune app is on and the phone hooked up via Bluetooth again and see if I can get weather app to work. Its something that's so unnecessary but I enjoy the feature...

You might have to enable bluetooth data sharing on your iPhone settings, or your carrier might have that function disabled.

I want to apologize and thank you for your input @hookembevo and @Pistol Pete. The apps all work with my phone so long as the entune app is open. worked well actually. Once I close the app and go to the homescreen it stops. :)
