i have an 07 taco doublecab with the jbl stereo installed. i want to change the sub to something that bumps just a lil bit more, can i swap out subwoofer and still use the same amp and wires that come from the amp. are there anysubwoofers that come with the same wire connection setup as the one currently installed

I am pretty sure you will need a second amp, I used a second amp to power a 10 inch JL sub and the original amp powers everything else. I took the factory sub out and put the new JL sub behind the driver side rear seat. The second amp is now where the original JBL sub was. The amp still needs to be wired to the battery but i was able to use the wire harness behind the back seat to tap into the rest of the connections. Then I but the passenger side rear seat plastic back in to cover the amps. Still have the factory jbl head unit and speaker right now they sound ok and the extra base def helps.

Any pictures of what your set up looks like now? I'm more of a visual learner. :help::help::help:

I did not take pictures when I did this, but my 10 inch sub is in it's own enclosure that was built to fit behind the back seat on the drivers side when you remove the plastic that is currently there. After I was done with the amps I put the plastic on the rear passenger side back so that still looks stock.

I did not need to get a new head unit. There is wire bundle that plugs into the amp behind the back seat. I looked at a wire diagram and figured out what wires were for the sub and I tapped into those wires for the sub and the acc wire for the second amp, the acc wire is the one that tells the amp to turn on and off with the stereo
