    Hello All,

I wanted to come on here and describe my issue before contacting the dealer. Maybe I am not doing something right and/or someone else has had this issue.

I do have the 2024 Tacoma TRD Sport w/ Premium Package.

I’m having issues with my JBL system going back to normal volume (playing music in all 4+ speakers) after warning alerts coming through while reversing. For example, if I am reversing and I’m getting warning signals of cross traffic, or object approaching it normal dims the volume. After placing the vehicle in Park/Drive the volume stays dimmed and music stays playing in only the front speakers; I’m guessing as if I’m still getting warning signals or still in reverse.

This has happened to me a couple times in a day already. Usually holding the volume button in resets the radio and everything goes back to normal. I just don’t think this is normal. This is my first Tacoma.

I hope my brand new truck doesn’t need to be in the service department. If anyone has any input or ideas please let me know. Thank you.

    Sounds like a software issue.

It’s probably in the owners manual, I remember seeing things like volume reducing at lower speeds. Reduce volume when taking phone calls . I personally haven’t read all of it because it’s like reading a thick book.

I haven't had this happen, the volume always goes back to normal. I have the JBL but with the small screen, not the larger one. You can search for a software update in the settings. Fingers crossed there will be one and that fixes it.
