    1300 does include installation. I bought the door at Home Depot, double door where both sides open, so I can bring big stuff into the basement. For some reason, the people who built the house put in an opening for a double door, but the door they put in had a fixed glass side, only one side opened. The door was around 700 and the inst. was around 500, then I need to buy the lock and handle, and pay the taxes.

    having assisted in the installation of a dozen or so exterior doors, I must say that $500 for install in a little absurd.
    takes aboot an hour including removing the existing door.

    They have to modify the opening and vinyl siding to fit the new door in. I'm kind of at their mercy, not something I'm about to try myself.

    :eek: that's what I'm afraid of is the installation cost... Nice that both sides open. I have a "french door" where only one side opens - fine by me. Less seals and places for leaks.

    Wanna come put one in for me :eek: please
