Pisses me off, too. Go other places and you end up in jail for a LONG time once caught... don't understand the reasoning.

Nice quote.. I like that :spy: might have to borrow that

Based off my training with Arizona SB1070, it is to my understanding and practice that I don't question citizenship unless I am dealing with a suspect who's committed a crime. While completing either a criminal citation or actual booking paperwork is when I'll ask about citizenship. Hell, the booking form actually asks that question and it's the same booking form we've used for the past 11 yrs and beyond. I don't randomly stop people and ask them to verify citizenship. And no, in Arizoan it is not a criminal offense to be in this country illegally.

Again, bordering political talk... I think it should be. Born and raised in a state that was filled with it and most of the crimes committed were by illegals. Lots of good little cities ruined by illegal immigration.

Yer right...it is bordering on political talk, but I do think it's a legit issue. In my community and I can't speak for other communities, about 30% of the crimes committed are by Illegals. It's different in the Casa Grande area and the Vekol Valley corridor, that's been so widely spoken about. The guys down there deal with a lot more Illegal Alien activity.

I have so much more to add but I don't think I should with it all. It is a tough subject to go over since you never know which side people are. I think the thing that makes me the maddest is the language part. I'm sorry, come to our country and learn to speak our language. And done for now

Or at least take active steps in pursuing a better understanding of it. Though I think the U.S. is one of the only 1st world countries that doesn't mandate having another language as part of the corriculum in schools. I know most all european countries learn 3. Here in Canada we learn english and have to take a basic french class. you can get more advanced if you want but it's not required.

Colleges require 2 years of a foreign language (most I should say) but that can be any language including sign language. How many of them enforce it, dunno. There are always waivers.
But how can we in the US decide what language to take? We have some many immigrants coming this way. We have Thai, Mexican, Arab, Isreali, Russian (Orthodox) and people of all sorts from Asia. If we cater to one of those, we have to cater to all of them.

Thanks for reminding me. I need a new belt sander and router. Also new blades for my table saw (used it the other day to cut aluminum L brackets).

My belt sander is my dad's old craftsman that is probably older than I am. I also have a radial arm saw that is older than me too. Craftsman made some kick ass tools back then.

keif, a few more things for your list

Random orbital sander, belt sander, drill press, air nailers (stapler, 18 Ga, pin)

The bad part about a band saw is they are either wood or metal, but not both. Wood wants a high RPM and metal wants low RPM.

I am wondering what kind of tools my other grandpa has hidden away. He has been farming and doing all his own stuff as long as I have known him. I haven't even been 1/4th of the way through his barn he has... and I spent a lot of time there.

I don't think my grandpa who just passed had anything of that age anymore. He didn't really have a whole lot of material stuff as long as I have known him.

My wife's grandma passed away last year and her grandpa is in a nursing home now. They are supposed to be selling the house. He had a garage full of tools. Mostly hand tools, but none the less I would like to go through it and see if there is anything I could use. No one else in the family is handy, but I can't speak up too loudly with out looking like an ass. I just don't want to see those tools leave the family, but I also want to see them get used.

I completely understand. I have some handy people in the family, but most of them mistreat tools and anything else. I take care of my stuff for the most part (unless saga gets them :anonymous: ). I really would like some of his guns that he has. I love his old Army .22 rifle he has. It was his old service rifle when they gave them to you as you left.
