    What is the worst part of job searching for you? For me its cover letters. I can handle interviews and resumes but I hate writing cover letters.

    Me too, hate writing cover letters... even though I haven't had to write one in over 8 years... and I got every job I've ever applied for.

    edit: re-read this post, came across more boastful than intended. I've only had 5 jobs, 3 of which were entry level positions.

    I had some help writing a cover letter when I was in school. All the cover letters I use now are based on that one, I change some stuff up here and there. I'm really not that good at selling myself, but I try to throw in some bull here and there. There is absolutely nothing I like about looking for a job, it can be humbling getting turned down, and I've been turned down a lot. I hope the job you have now realizes they are making you nuts and you don't have to change jobs, but I've been there. I would give you one piece of advice. If you can get your resume to the dept. manager instead of human resources, you have a better chance of getting an interview.

    They just always sound phony to me :notsure:
    Rejection is hard. The interviews that I think I've done well in; I don't get hired and the ones that I think I made a fool of myself; I get the job! You never know....
    I do try to bring my papers by in person rather than email/mail when ever possible. Even a brief meeting cam make a better impression than a piece of paper. And never underestimate the power of a secretary. When I worked at the front desk of a couple of stores people would drop off thier resumes with me...and the boss would ask about the appearance and impression of each person. I think that anyone I didn't like didn't get an interview.

    I didn't see it as boastful, getting a job used to be almost routine. Times have changed, it's a tough market here in the Northeast U.S., especially in manufacturing, those jobs are gone for good. Recovery is really not happening here at all. I've only had 3 jobs in my life, and I've been working for 38 years.

    Evening Susan.:wave: I ended up staying at the cabin instead of going to the fireworks. Jodi went with our son, I'm going to try to keep the dog calm, he hates fireworks, and he is getting real old. I should be able to see them from across the lake.

    Hi Dave... I don't go see fireworks... I stay with the pooches and try and keep them calm... Part of the reason I don't go see them is there are too many stoopid people at those kinds of events. No one watching their kids... no thanks... I'll stay home with the girls. I can see some from the house, so, no need to go anywhere.

    Ok, that's enough grapes and cherries. I ate my fruit for today
