With the amount it costs anymore, we both have to work . My mom worked though, and Erica's mom worked for a while as well.

If I made double what I do I would tell Erica to go part time only.

 

I would love to have the wife stay at home, just not in the cards right now.

IMO childcare should be free for all branches. I am sickened every time I do work for the Philly Vet hospital. That place is a disgrace. I think people should have to take a visit there before they cast a vote so they can see the conditions.


Need to end rant...getting worked up just thinking about it.

If my child were one of them, it would turn into adult fight club when i got there to pick my child up.

 

They will never take care of us. There was a thread on here about the Army cutting funding. Some ass-hat came in and his only comments were "good, its about time." He later went further saying the military makes too much money and spends too much money. I want to know how training costs too much money? Wouldn't you rather have a well taken care of, well trained fighting force? I can see cuts in other things, such as the amount we spend over-seas. But how can you really justify cutting our training? As it stands, half my new guys can't get the proper training they need because we don't fly as much as we used to.

And child care here on base... . Did you know I have to cater to single parents? They can only work day shift hours and I can't schedule them for weekends unless they have a month in advance. I also can't deploy them unless they have more time than that. The care center on base is only open from 630a-1700 every day. Real convenient for the people who work office jobs, but not so much for the people who actually do a real mission.
