They expected 10,000. Not sure on numbers, but you'd think they would have prepared a server to deal with live video presentations as well as public and private chat plus people uploading and downloading information.

 

I applied for a job with a big water district a couple of years ago, there was ten no-reason-to-fire Plumber I jobs, they start at about 23 bucks an hour plus bennies and OT, I shit you not, they had the job up for like two weeks on the website, 12,000 people applied. They tested 9000, you had to make it into the top 4 1/2 percentile to get to the next level, I tested at top 5%.

The problem with the field I want to get into is that many of the jobs require a security clearance, and to get that a company has to sponsor you first. It's not a cheap or quick process, so if there were 2 people that applied, one with and one without, its obvious who they'd hire.
