Yeah that's what I was thinking but its campus housing so I'm guessing its a deal with NYU. And honestly right now anything that has to do with business. I'm exploring my options I guess.

I went on indeed and monster but they don't have anything for next summer yet just fall/winter/spring semesters

 

I picked up a flat granite slab ( certified flat with in .0001", and it weighs 70 lbs) a few years ago. I go through the grits of sand paper up to 2000 then to a leather strop depending on how sharp i want.

The better the chisel the less i sharpen.

Just finished writting one of my power engineering exams, wrote 15 pages in 3 hours and 25 min. Finished with 5 minutes to spare. My hand kills.

I've got this one for a honing guide. It works well. For quick touch ups on 2k grit, i just do it by hand.

I'm currently using a 1000x / 4000x Japanese water stone

 

I looked at them, but haven't taken the plunge yet. I got in on a deal for some sand paper and got 100 sheets each of 120,180,300, 400, 800, 1200, 1500, 2000 for $100. I'm set for quite a while with my method.

I'm going to get a 200x stone too , I needed to spend quite a bit of time on a couple mangled chisels last time starting at the 1000x , haha

 

120 makes pretty quick work of those mangled chisels. I need to teach my dad the benefit of sharp chisels. I had to sharpen a one of his while we were building the house. All i had was some 400, but it got them sharp enough for what I was doing.

 

I am currently trimming out some windows in a curved wall and had to do a lot of fitting , my planes were not sharp enough and made me pretty angry

Pine is even more difficult being so soft. Things need to be extra sharp.
