lol... that's what my pops tells me...

 

About an inch of snow on the driveway this morning. Checked Weather Underground and found this "special statement:
340 PM akst Sat Jan 18 2014

...Elevated water levels for some low lying areas of Anchorage and
refreezing of exposed surfaces across southcentral Alaska...

Rain has continued over the Anchorage area as weather disturbances
swing through the region. This coupled with high freezing levels
since early Friday has allowed for considerable runoff and snow melt
resulting in some locally high water levels across low lying areas.
Expect these elevated levels to continue into tonight...with the main
impacts being minor flooding for bike paths and trails around Chester
and Campbell creeks.

Across southcentral...freezing levels will be falling overnight as
will area temperatures...with refreezing of ponded areas and wet
surfaces likely by early Sunday morning.

He was on yesterday morning too. You'd think the election was this year.

I'll have to start my taking week long breaks from watching cable/national level news coverage early this time.

Stupid weather, I'm afraid we're gonna experience Spring thaw/break up multiple times this year. Oh well, the weather always gives me something to gripe about.

 

Funny part is you can do that and a week later they're still talking about the same shit.

 

Indeed.. I usually turn it off for long stretches at a time and dont' let myself get roped into it...

 

I was telling the guys in the hockey thread this is the second year in a row we couldn't play pond hockey hear because it was so warm.

Typically I won't watch the major network news because it makes me sick, I'm just bored on the couch.

 

Sometimes I miss the days before cable. I was a kid/teenager, but it seems when it was just the big three networks and news was morning and evening mainly, the stories were more meaningful and you didn't get inundated with crap news. Or maybe that's just how I choose to remember it.

 

Ya'll take care, I'll check in later. See if I can get in a nap before the house comes to life. More of my crazy sleep habit.
