    My father in law and sister in law set off from Rhode Island this morning for Alabama to visit my father in laws mother. She's 100 this year and my father in law's health is failing. They got as far as Virginia and now they are holed up in a hotel. Snow came on quick and heavy. Oh well, looks like a 3 day drive for them now.

    Oh yeah Susan, they're doing the right thing. Only problem they have is they are traveling with a 100 lb. German shephard. Finding a dog friendly hotel was a problem. They had a 2 day route planned out and had called ahead to make sure the hotel allowed the dog.

    I know all about traveling with dogs :D My babies do round trip - cross country trips once a year. I know alot of hotels think dogs only come under 25 pounds. Hope they have a safe trip.
