so i noticed today when i was washing my truck that my rear bump is getting messed up

i have rust and bubbling paint around the driver side license plate light, 3 'notches' out of the paint and deep into the steel on the passenger side with rust starting

 

Do certain comments about Haiti come to mind?

 

It's amazing that if i said something about haiti two weeks ago no one would have gave a shit...

is it to where you can remove the rust and paint it? Or is it in the chrome?

 

Can't wait to see some pics of the run today? Was there a good turn out?

 

i have a color matched bumper

i have already touched up two spots and they are doing ok. i'll give it a shot tomorrow if it stays nice out

for what its worth, tremclad glossy black is damn near a perfect match for the bsp (the touched up spots i did well are hard to find but one spot i just painted it to cover it )

 

It's good you have the color matched bumper so yo can touch it up. Put some primer on first. Might slow down any more rust

 

yup i used 200 grit sand paper to remove the rust and a pick to get all the rust out i could. i hit the edges of the factory paint with 1200 grit and used tremclad rust primer and paint.

then i wet sanded the paint down to make it as flush as i could to the stock paint


at this point i think i may start looking at replacement bumpers for next year or so
