Jet boats are quick, and manuver well, but I dont like how they dont hook up well at speed, when turning. Give me a prop anyday

 

And you cant really trim a jet drive.

 

Yeah, but they still cant be trimmed. In rough water, it helps if you can get the nose of the boat down, and let the front cut through the big waves. On our lake meet, Bret (who had a Sea Doo), was getting his ass kicked, while everyone in my boat, was sitting comfy

 

His boat had no provision for trim. No switch, or whatever. Just a "Bucket" control. Reverse, and forward.

 

Its a year old. Your thinking of the VTS. My buddies doesnt work, and his new one didnt even come with it. The older Seadoos that have a VTS leak, and cant trim well, if at all. Regardless, I prefer a prop to a jet drive. I guess its all personal, but after seeing my buddies with jet drive boats have their trips cut short, or me having to pull them to shore, over a plastic bag, stick, etc. caught in the impeller, I'll stick with me prop. I DO belive the jet drives can give the best performance in the right hands, and the Yami's and Seadoos have great power to weight ratios, but the low speed manuverability, the lack of being able to turn at top speeds, along with the chance of getting something caught in the impeller, doesnt suit me.

 

Im going to hell.....I just threw a fire cracker at one of our landscapers......He said "EEE qualia Chinga!" Im sure I spelled that wrong, but thats what it sounded like.

 

To add, I dont like "V" drives either. I see what happens to my friends with their boats, and draw a conclusion.

 

True. Our lakes out here can get muddled up with shit from trash throwing assholes. In shallow water, My buddies DO have an advantage with having no exposed prop, but rarely do we get below 2 feet of water. And, when we go to the river, it seems they are shy about going into grass areas.
