    bah! Most of the pics I see of contact is no more than a 1/4 - 1/2 inch. Also I didn't do it. I don't have the tools or knowledge on how to weld.

    Yeah. $150 plus I tipped the guy $20. I'm happy with it and it's a clean job. From all the pics I've seen of chops it seems that that is more than most cut and I won't run anything bigger than a metric 33.

    ok good. You had me worried for a bit. I doubt it will rub that close to the frame. I'd think it would touch the frame before it contacts the mount that far in.

    All I have is an angle grinder with a 4 1/2 inch disk. I don't think I'd be able to cut the top. He used a saw zall. What ever I'm happy with the work.

    The plate is about the same as the bm itself. The thickness you see is probably the weld. If it's that close I'll just grind it down.
