Traffic court? Do tell

 

Already did tell...about 400 pages back.

I got pulled over just before Christmas for a red light vio. Cop said I didn't come to a complete stop before making a right on red...I say I did. So I have to go to court today at 130 and see the judge.

Here's the deal...

I came up to the intersection, light was red, another car was in front of me. When I stopped I was directly behind the crosswalk, the car ahead of me was stopped ahead of the crosswalk. They made their turn. Once they were clear, I checked to my left for oncoming and proceeded to make my turn without rolling forward and re-stopping halfway through the intersection like the previous car. All the cop saw was me following the other car through. I was stopped where I should have been, that other car was in the wrong to pull ahead like that. I could see clearly from where I was stopped and knew I was good to go.

Correct. If she was close enough to the car infront of her, to which the officers vison was obscured to the point he vied her as still moving, I beklive he cited her for the lesser of the violations.

 

I guess you side with the cop thinking that I should have pulled forward and blocked the crosswalk, stopped, creeped forward just enough to allow my front bumper to hang in traffic, stopped again, and then continue through?

 

Hey. Dont get mad at me for you breaking the law. You should have stayed in place, flashed your lights, and honked the horn, signifying that you were ready to pull into traffic after the completed stop.

 

Actually, the correct procedure is (per PA) to stop before the crosswalk, visually look for oncoming traffic (if vision is obscured and no pedestrians are in the crosswalk) then slowly proceed into the crosswalk until vision clear. Then look for traffic.
