The people above me!! They're loud as HELL!! I held off saying anything for the longest time because I hate having to be THAT guy. I'm nowhere near the quietest person myself, but they're being ridiculous. I knocked on their door, and no one answered (I hope they weren't trying to fool me, I KNOW they're in there), but magically the ruckus has ceased.

I've seen them before, they're some brand of foreigners, their apartment REEKS of fish, and from the sound of all the racket they're making, there's gotta be about 5 or 6 of them living in there (a 2 bedroom apartment, mind you).

Peace and quiet for now, but for how long??

I had some neighbors like that once. I set my alarm for 2AM during the week, and at that time, I pulled my cycle up to theiur door, fired it up, and reved it to about 10,500 rpm, for about 10 seconds.....

I thought of doing something really obnoxious like that, but it will just turn into a pissing match. I will ask them politely, then escalate the proper way.

I imagine there's a few kids up there, its a lot of banging, sounds like kids tackling each other.

I know what you mean...the guy below me is horrible. the first week that he was here he was out drinking and came back with a bunch of guys...3am on a week night they turn on his stereo full volume. literally knocked me out of bed. i had to go down there in my pj's to yell at them...he opened the door and the smoke started billowing out and choking me. non smoking building mind you. called the landlord the next day and complained. they didn't want to do anything unless they witnessed it themselves  BS. he's still loud and i have to remind him about once a month to keep it down. i've tried retaliating but that just doesn't work...loud music at 4 am and vacuuming my floors for 30 minutes straight.

why can't people have a little courtesy for those that share the walls/floors?!?!!?

Another thing you can do, if you want to stay on the down low.....Drill a very small hole in the ceiling (their floor), and insert a straw. Leave it there. When they start being loud again, shoot some mace into the straw. Empty the can. They should shut up after that.

Its nice for not having to worry about maintenance/upkeep, just pay rent and everything's covered. I'm not crazy about being surrounded by so many people. Especially leaving poor Holly to fend for herself in the humongous parking lot:(
