    I know how that goes. I'm a consultant as well. I have one benefit, i'm actually a full time employee of my consulting firm.

    What field are you in that isn't doing well? I'm in IT and it seems to be going crazy.

    im in the same boat as you, i have been at my current job for 1 year as a contractor. our company is laying off 30,000 people soon, so im working my ass off to get on perm. but in my position thats not happening. im looking for other job openings in my company.

    where do you work at if you dont mind me asking?
