yep and do not open any brake lines and u wont have to bleed the brakes... u need a c clamp, the rest is a walk in the park

 

idk about tacoma brakes (never looked at mine) but on my tundra calipers there were two pins that the pads slide onto.

C clamp, youll need this to depress the calipers so the new pads will fit(more brake pad material)... not specific on the 1st gens but out of all the front brakes ive ever done thats the only none basic garage item that ive needed.

 

I've always done it without the C clamp

Well, My S-10 needed an oversized Torx bit to pulled the caliper bolt. But I think the toyotas use metric hex bolts like normal

 

Depends on the design, some are easier to muscle then others. I've never personally done these ones.

 

tell her to fuck off, no not really... but i love when its maintenance weekend, old lady doesnt complain b/c i do all the work on her car and it needs more work than mine

 

c clamps are really easy and non destructive, i think i started using the c clamp when my intergra's caliper was seized and i tore my old pad to pieces (doesnt matter i know but i almost bent the big ass flathead i was using too) its just easier to me and i know itll work every time on every caliper
