We have a local saying here, after every snowfall, the retards throw themselves in ditches and the roads suddenly have less traffic. Its handy cause most people dont die or get hurt and then theres like 50 vehicles in the ditch in a little 30 km stretch of highway.

It's amazing how many people don't drive for the conditions, regardless of what they are driving. I haven't seen anyone in the ditch yet, but it's just a matter of time. Around here there are days when you wouldn't be able to get to work without a 4x4, there was even a couple times last year where I wouldn't have gotten out of my parking lot without 4wd.

Not the same brush, but those people tend to be a rather large slice of the population pie

I didn't mean everyone... But it does apply to a lot of people. You said it yourself \/

my point is that you don't need a 4x4 to drive like a moron in the winter, couldn't tell you how many times I've been passed by small cars doing 120+kph during a snow storm only to see them in the ditch 5 minutes later.

I just hate how unpredictable it is driving in icy snowy conditions

Last winter it snowed a few inches while I was working, and we had a shooting

I was driving approx 25mph approaching a bridge, stayed in the tire tracks of previous cars (including the 2 patrol cars I was following), let off the gas to coast over the bridge and immediately went into a spin as i passed over the bridge...came damn close to wadding up my cruiser but managed to recover it

I had a Douche Canoe tail gate me on the interstate one day in the snow. I was driving my CRX and was doing about 45 while trying to pass someone. I was passing them but slowly. This huge dually truck came up behind me and got right on my ass. He was within 5' of my back bumper. I down shifted and didn't hit the brakes. The next thing i saw was him fishtailing all over the place and trying to stay in control. He backed off after that and let me finish the pass. then he took off down the interstate. Hopefully he learned his lesson on tailgating in the snow.
