    4 Days of not enough sleep so I'm sick now. Spent all morning walking in the mountains hunting, so I am also kind of tired... I'm not in a bad mood, actually a good one since my lift is now ordered. I'm just pissed that I kept getting jerked around and wasn't taken seriously.

    Days off aren't all that they are cracked up today. I found a post in my fence that was rotting off so i spent a few hours today pulling it out and replacing it.

    Can you pull the hard drive and hook it in your new computer? Many new computers have multiple hard drives... Or you could use an external hard drive. I mean, I know of other ways to do it, but you sound like you want a simple solution

    I was hoping there was some way o link the computers together and move the data. I was trying not to have to copy the data to another card or drive then copy the data into the new system.

    Thers a device that you can use that goes into the back of an internal drive and has a usb port at the other end. This would practially turn it into an external drive.

    you can do something like this and take the HD out of the old computer or you can just use simple file sharing to copy files from one computer to another over the network. Otherwise you can use a flashdrive/external HD to copy files.

    or you can get a crossover network cable and go from network port to network port. You will need to configure the network cards on both machines to be on same network.

    LOL That is the product I already have. I had a HD attached to the computer but it was too cumbersome so I moved the HD inside the box and used a PCI slot card and purchased a card that had a SATA interface. Works pretty well.

    i carry one with me all the time to do data recovery. They are a very useful tool. I also like to take a ghost image of the machine if i have enough room to store it. That way i know i can always go back and get something if i forget to move it.
