IT guys question... put in the new 2gb Ram and now i have plenty of extra memory but the CPU usage is still spiking and sitting very near 99%

 

old neighbors greyhound did that. He saw a dear and ran right through it. he paused when he felt the shock, but was well past the fence line. Then he took off after the deer.

 

Mine found the weak point in it before I put up the privacy fence on the last side. I took it out now. If you want it, I will sell it to you for 30. You just need to find new lines unless you want the wireless one.

 

go to task manager. what process(es) are using the CPU?

 

Same situation here, but he likes to hang out with me (or my son) when we're in the garage. If he gets bored he sneaks off to visit his buddies...they bark at each other through the fences in the backyards...so he knows they're down the road a little. What worries me is he might get hit if he strays into the road; that would really tear me up. That's why I use the 30ft lead.

 

I just ate a tombstone with extra homemade sauce and cheese, mmmhmmm.

my little dog likes to run off also, hunts in the woods... ends up in the neighbors yards every once which is a huge nuisance

 

i can't take a nap, have work today.

 

yeah, i know Elliott isn't street smart. he would just run right out there.

 

firefox, hp connection and explorer.exe... rest are under 7k and there are 75 total processes but the usage has dropped now. was at 88 processes when it was spiking

 

75 - 88 is still way too much.

 

next time it spikes take a look at the task manager for the process with the highest CPU percentage.

 

yes, it should be closer to 60 i believe.

One of my friends started with the wired kind, didn't get all of it buried, just ran part of it along the ground in the woods behind his house. Moose kept breaking the wire when they stepped on it. He went wireless.

 

what is your A/V program? have you run malwarebytes?

 

I ran mine along the bottom of the fence line one 3 sides. Buried it along the chain link when it was up about 4 feet back. Didn't want her getting out, but she still did find the weak spot.
