    Hey TW!

I have been building IFS skid plates for members and figured a dedicated page would be in order. (hopefully, sliders to come soon!)

I make and sell both DIY "weld yourself" and fully fabricated (unpainted) versions of the front skid plate, 3/16 steel, and 1/4 inch aluminum. I can and have added custom logos or names to the front for an additional 25$.

Currently, I only offer these for local pickup in the NY/NJ area, as shipping would be too much of a hassle.

They fit both the 3rd and 2nd generations of these trucks and have an optional oil filter trap door and diff drop bump out.

I had a lot of help from the community designing the CAD file, thanks to many members on this forum. As such, I don't mind sending a .dxf or other type of file for free if anyone wants to have a crack at cutting one out and building for themselves. This means what you pay me for is essentially my fabrication time/skill and equipment/materials.

Prices updated for 2023 material cost.

    Steel: 3/16"
    DIY: $225.00
    Fully fabricated: $350.00

    Aluminum: 1/4"
    DIY: $325.00
    Fully fabricated: $450.00

    A bit about me:
I am an artist and educator working in ceramics, wood, metal fabrication, foundry, and CAD for over 15 years. Making these products in my spare time, I fully test things in the field on my own truck.

*This product is intended for offroad use only. I take no responsibility or liability for damage to your vehicle or person.

I'm the idiot in the white truck in the middle above. I'm the idiot that went out with stock tires and didn't air down. That skid plate took some beatings :D

I've posted a few times probably but my favorite quote for the day - "Be careful on that left either go tight or wide there's a rock in the mid....or go right over it"

 highly recommend. And I know @JDUB-Fabrication ended up beating on it a while before I got it too.

Idiot in blue on the left here :rofl:picked mine up the evening before that trip and put it on in the parking lot, proceeded to drop the truck on it a handful of times and it took it in stride. If you're local to the area, there's no reason no to save on shipping and go with this

Super cool! I'm going to DM you to request the files; I love doing stuff myself whenever I can, and this looks like a fun project.

Any idea of the weight difference between steel and aluminum for this design?

I've got a buddy with a plasma cutter table. Would your front skid plug and play with any other manufacturers for the rest of the underside armor?

I’d consider it. Would need a pro skid to use as a template.

1/4 inch aluminum skid took a beating at the last outing but still holding up.

The main obstacle is I need an exaust reroute before I design the next two pieces of skid plate.

Hey people, if your looking for the CAD file PM me with your email and I’ll send it to you.
Side note, I also have a design for a KDSS equipped GX or 4Runner as that’s what I now run.

Mine is still working perfectly. Still not painted either. I wanted lots of nooks and crannies for the paint to adhere to.

IMG_2543.jpg IMG_2545.jpg IMG_2589.jpg I through one together the other week. Cut a bunch of small slots bent it then welded it back together. Might make a few minor tweaks and build another one. But super easy skid to build.
