    Good morning

    Maybe a stupid question but:

My brother in law got a Jeep JL and has not settled on a forum. Any recommendations? Tacoma world equivalent for Jeep’s?

    Thanks in advance!

    Still thinking about it.

I went and looked out of curiosity. Wow there are some haters on there! Worse than TW even lol..

Daria I’d like to know more about your Jeep experience. Did you have reliability issues?

There’s too much infighting between generations here to gain enough steam for other autos.

What year did you have @Daria? Most issues I’ve seen in the newer models is related to the aux battery not holding a charge and impacting every system when ESS isn’t off / bypassed.

Don't let her fool you, she loved her jeep.
She just has a propensity to change vehicles more than you probably change your oil. lol.

Tool around all of them. find one or two you like and move in. The one that I liked did a huge change to it's web site a few years back. Lost a lot of people because it went add-o-licious, then required you to log in see certain parts of the site. I don't frequent that one like I used too. did recently join Jeeps.net, though it doesn't seen very active.

Had one in my "79" CJ7. It had a split header. I loved that thing! My Pops bought it for me on the conditiin that he could tow his bass tracker occasionally on the weekends. $3500 in 1986.

The first time I broke down was literally on my way to the dealer for the steering box recall. But I had to drive 100 miles to bypass a ridiculous waiting list for the parts. Luckily my bf was able to bring the trailer and we dropped her at the dealer. Coil packs went bad at twenty-something thousand miles. Next major issue was battery related and the aux battery system is fucky. Broke down many time that night.

I had a decent build, 37s, armor, etc. Other than the 37s and the elevation we live at, it was capable. I think I’m just bitter that it costs so fucking much for one of these things and it gave me issues leaving me stranded solo more than once in the year and a half I owned it.

I still wonder about a 392 but I’m not spending excessive amounts of money on daily drivers anymore.

I had a 2019. Traded it for my sequoia over the summer. No regrets. All the space for my two idiot dogs.

    A few things
When I had my jeep I used www.jeepforum.com it’s been probably a decade since I was last on that site so not sure how it is now. I never should have sold that jeep.

The dealer incentives at larger dealers is good (10%~ under MSRP), but yeah they’re generally expensive and stay that way on the used market. 392 XR with 4.56s looks incredible.

I actually have to take mine in on Monday to have the tailgate lock fixed (it’s not working with the fob, and it’s certified + under warranty). I’m going to have them print me a list of all the TSBs done / not done while I’m there since I got it used. After that, I’m installing the jumper fix in the fuse box and disconnecting that aux battery.

I actually traded in my Golf R on this because I wanted a lifted vehicle again AND to haul my turd of golden retriever puppy.

Are these the forums where they organize giant groups of 15-20 Jeeps to clog up popular trails like Engineer or Imogene Pass while remain somehow oblivious to the cluster fuck they create? If so, fuck them.

Also, why is that a Jeep thing? Are they so unreliable that you need twenty other jeeps there to get your piece of shit recovered when it breaks down?
