JeepAndrew's AZ Trail Runs/Campouts

So I may just drive out to Tucson on Thursday night before this, and camp out somewhere and meet up with the group. 4.5 hours of driving for what's probably going to be an early meet at the trail will make for me having to get up at like 1am. Might as well just take my time the afternoon beforehand and stroll down to Benson and throw up the RTT. Or camp in someone's driveway.

 

If you want Adam, I'm probably going to be headed up to camp Thurs afternoon and will be there in the evening sometime. We can coord with each other to meet up if you want

This run won't be like Rug Road, that is we all meet somewhere and wheel in together. This run is easy navigating on a really easy trail to camp that isn't too far off the beaten path. So, it's show up whenever you want pretty much. It's gonna be meet at camp and then go trail playing, for whoever wants to do that. We will have a "basecamp".

 

Yeah I'm game for that. I was going to even just go up on Thursday all the way in and just enjoy a quiet evening/morning before the party started the next day. But hey if you're going up there Thursday then I just may join you.

 

^^That's exactly what I was going to do^^ We can meet up off I-10 in Marana and convoy, if you don't mind my slow-ass heep I think most everybody won't be showing up till late Friday anyways.

 

I'm going to set up camp and not move a muscle all weekend unless I ride co-pilot with someone. I'm planning on putting in some good quality hammock time up there. Should be nice and cool.

 

You guys are very persuasive. But its BLS! We'll see.

 

Any buggy level stuff?

 

Slow is not a problem. I want to see this new trailer of yours in action, too. I bet the GoPro would get some good footage being mounted to the trailer on the side and pointed forward at your Jeep.

 

I may be coming in thursday evening aswell.

 

Hmm, not that I know of. It's all NFS roads that arent "too" exciting. I could do some research tho.

Yeah I'm thinking daytime temps in the 70s (maybe low 80s) and cool/cold-ish at night.

 

Probably around 10 ish. I dont know for sure my plans yet. Still waiting on Whitney

**Note** this guy's trail rating for this run (at least for the road stretch between Middlemarch Rd and Gordon Camp itself) is questionable, since we were able to get several prerunners (and one 5 lug STD cab) up and down that road without incident.

Yeah he says 2-4 hours to go 2.5 miles LOL. You could do carpet hill over and over again for 2.5 miles and it wouldn't take near that long. I can do the back road to Crown King well within that timeframe.
