We should start a vote on possible dates. I'm good for any weekend except the 17th and Halloween, but my vote is for the first weekend in Nov.

This is for rug road right? I think I looked that one up, it said it was okay for a stock height but 4x4 and rear lockers were necessary?

These guys who run it suggest a bit more. You have to take in account the monsoons and vehicles that travel the trail. The review or trail guide you read may not be 2015. There are some YouTube videos of the trail available but they are from last year or longer.

It's amazing how 1 flood or a pack of drunk piloted Side by sides can completly destroy a trail. :)

Bummer, I'll checkthem out thanks. I guess I just be forced to by a 14 inch lift, front lockers 87 inch tires just to make sure I can make it. I would hate to be the odd one out, you know??

Ha-ha.. No man. I'm not saying you can't make it. As long as you are cool with the possibility of carnage, go for it. Even a stock Tacoma is better than a YJ. :)

And FIFY by the way. I like your build plans.

alright, well thanks for the help, I'll see if I can't throw some money at the truck for sliders or a lift or something. If I can't it will be a very careful drive for me.

Edit: haha, I didn't see that you changed the quote. It's like you saw right through the bs and found what I actually want!

These guys who run the trail can be a better judge than me. I'm just reciprocating what they have said every year. Sliders are a huge plus! I can set you up with Brandon @ Avid for a set if you like. Even Andrew here can make you a great set. One means a drive to Tucson, the other east Mesa by me. Regardless, both of these guys do solid work and hook up the locals. Dragging slider across a rock is a lot better than the under carriage.

Icon MT suspension, Pelfreybuilt front bumper, Relentless skids, Avid sliders, Avid custom rack. Pelfreybilt HC Rear bumper.
running 87" tires, now you are ready for ALL THE MALLS!

After doing Rug Road this Spring, I would suggest a two inch lift of the extended travel type. For tires 32" (265x75R16) tires are fine, taller is better, but be prepared to cut up your fenders and flares if you want 35's! Sliders and skids will prevent rocker panel damage and under side dents. I reccommend an e-locker or other locker on the rear axle. This is the configuration of my Tacoma.

There will be folks to assist if you get hung up or need guidance on the tough sections. Have some recovery gear such as a good 30' tow strap and a shovel at a minimum.

How much does Avid charge for sliders. I would need 80inch. All pro charges like $400
