    $40k+ is awful steep for a 2 door rubi that I'll have to put another 10k into to be up to my specs, only to turn around and break repeatedly..

    I'll stick to my 23 year old YJ, at least I can actually work on it :)

    I put 4.56 gears in my 2nd gen with bone stock V6 and auto trans. The gears restored the grunt lost to the added weight of sliders, skids, F & R plate bumpers, winch, big battery, bed rack, RTT. You just have to make peace with 2500 RPM at 70 mph on the highway. Fuel mileage is no worse and I believe the motor is happy spinning a bit faster in a better power range.

    Transmission is certainly happier. Higher revs get the pump spinning faster and more fluid flow for better pressures and cooling.

    Regear is probably one of the last things I'll worry about. More than likely be Regear the t4r first because the acceleration in that is slower than my truck now. hahah.

    I know you were, and I'm glad you do :)

    10k is probably a conservative estimate, might just cover suspension kit, bumpers front and rear, larger tires, lights etc.
    front and rear lockers, regear and full set of 35s including spare alone on the YJ was pushing 5k.
