    Dad is hanging in there. Anyways put my deavers on the truck today and my rear shocks are too short so I will need too buy new king rear shocks with custom leangth too replace the king rears that I just put on.

    I ran my truck for months with only one rear shock. Even ran chiva falls like that. You just gotta take it easy without the dampening you get from the shocks, but it's the leafs that carry the load.

    That's what I was getting at. You don't need rear shocks for daily driving. You can take them off so they don't get damaged and you can resell them as new. Just don't do any prerunning.

    I only figured that out after I blew one of my shocks. The leaf packs support the weight of the truck. The shocks only smooth out the ride; dampen the shock of bumps you hit.

    Leafs have some built in dampening due to the internal friction compared to coils.

    Shocks dampen (control) movement. Springs support weight/load.

    Could limit strap the rear temporarily and run the oem kings... it would just limit your down travel making it so that the shock itself can't OVER extend
