Windrock eh? Get a map, bring parts and tools. That place is a definite step up from Uwharrie.

I'm looking forward to it, but I have heard the navigation nightmares about that place...

It's enormous and easy to get lost.

You should know ahead of time that most of the obstacles on most of the trails are NOT bypassable. If you get really deep in it and come up on something that's plain not going to happen, you're in all likelihood turning around.

I only mention this because in previous trips, we've gotten into shit where getting back out was just as risky as going forward.

Think before committing, I guess, is what I'm saying. And go prepared.

10-4, thanks for the heads up! We have spare front/rear shafts, lots of fluids, etc...

When do you want to run URE again?

I've gotta get some stuff settled with my rig first, mainly tire clearance on my new rear shock setup. I'll definitely be in for the October TW run.

Honestly though, there's a few other places around I haven't been to yet that are supposed to be pretty good...Potts Mtn up in VA and Gulches ORV in SC. Uwharrie is nice to have, but I know the place by heart at this point. Harlan, KY is supposed to be really good as well.

Mountain City over in Tennessee used to be awesome, but it's closed right now. All the good parts of Richland Road are apparently private property.

Windrock is excellent, but a long drive.

Getting harder to get to quality wheeling here in NC...or the general area around the state for that matter.

Ya'll are going to have a ball! Take lots of pics. Also I think they've came out with a new trail map for Windrock. If you don't mind pick me one up, i'll pay if it isn't free.
