Well I'm watching Racelines tube video on how to mount tires on their beadlocks and now I'm just really pissed about how much easier this apparently is than non-beadlock tires.

Have you marked your wheels and rims to see how much they are moving?

    I have not.

However, my general mentality with modding this truck as well as modding vehicles in the past has always been 'its good enough until it's not'. Since I've now debeaded a tire, and it wasn't super fun for anyone involved, I'm pining for beadlocks to make that not happen again anytime soon.

Just curious, watch the odometer and take a sharpie to them. I wonder how much you are spinning. Also, the more I look at the parts list for taking a 3rd gen automatic to 35s, I keep wondering if it's worth it. Regear, beadlocks, new tires, trim everything, snorkel, figure out something for your fender liners . . . .

    Would you do it again?

I would have hesitated alot in an auto just because of the price of a regear. I have a manual, so my gears are already 4.30s. I have had these tires on for a couple months now and never really felt like 'man I need more gears to get the truck moving or get up this trail'. I just lost a little bit of 6th gear which is perfectly tolerable. It's been alot of stuff, sure, but if you think about it:

CMC- would have eventually tried 285s and needed to do this
UCAs- would have done with 285s for alignment
Suspension upgrades- would have done anyway.
Front bumper- would have done anyway
    Snorkel- haven't done this yet...
    Beadlocks- 'want', not 'need'
Cutting/trimming fenders- wouldn't have done this for 33s but it wasn't too hard.
Fender liners- honestly, I probably will just leave these as is. I bed-lined the surfaces on the inside of my fenders and have had no issues with anything since.

Fortunately, my menial job enables me to swing truck parts. And Lydia typically doesn't care as long as I throw some money in the savings every month and pay the bills.

That said, I've considered dropping back to 33s just for convenience's sake, but then I remember I'm trying to make 3rd gens great again!

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
    I've got a 34 I'll sell. Was my spare.
    $150.
    285/75-17 Nitto Ridge Grappler.
Only about 300 miles on it. Haven't dismounted from rim yet though.

Or, for $300 total, I'll leave it on the rim, already balanced. SCS Ray10. :D

Edit: it never debeaded unintentionally. :boink:
