Crimp connectors are designed to be used with dedicated Klein-style wire crimpers. If you used pliers or something like that, they are almost guaranteed to fail.

Can you elaborate on what you meant about using the remote wire from the 6x9’s

Damn you’re awesome man. I feel bad to keep asking you questions.
I figured I was making the connections look clean but I could tell when I crimped them that they weren’t tight but was in a rush to finish up before we had to go out to dinner. Haven’t had a chance to mess with it again. I forgot that I would need some speaker wire so I used the 18 gauge remote wire included in the amp kit pictured here to run the signal from the 6 x 9 speaker wire to the sub. Ended up switching to wire nuts.

BTW, I saw a YouTube video that installed the same sub on his accord said he needed to run the speaker wires to both rear speakers. Looks nice but he also used a Boss amp wiring kit which would leave me to believe that he wasn’t necessarily an expert

Wire nuts aren’t meant for vehicle use so expect a failure there sometime down the road. They’re made for home use, where there is roughly zero vibration and movement. Cars, on the other hand, have lots of vibration and movement

for a clean reliable install without buying a specific tool, grab some of these and they work well with just a heat gun.

But I’m glad it was easy to find the failure point! So it’s all up and running in her car now?

I was talking about the bass knob too, they’re out of stock everywhere. I have an order in at Crutchfield and Amazon and the Amazon one is estimated to ship in early November.

Been Sidetracked. yes, it’s up and running, and works, but is making a Feedback whomp whomp whomp... noise when accelerating or sometimes decelerating. Pretty loud. LOL, I wasn’t even in her car for a week and a half and she didn’t tell me that it was making that noise. Just thought it was normal. One of the things that I wasn’t sure about is that there are two positives and two negatives going to each speaker. I ran both of each into one wire going into the sub as shown in the picture.

I’ve been out of the game too long and you describing that brought be back into it. The accords (since like 2015 or so) have ANC (ambient noise cancelling)

there are mics placed around the cab on the ceiling that listen for road noise, and they pipe audio signals into the radio to cancel out these road noises.
When it plays these frequencies, they are now being played through the sub as well now, which the mics pic up, which makes them play more to counteract this new noise it’s not calibrated for, and all that happens over and over like microphone feedback.

you’ll need to disconnect the ANC module. It’s buried way down under the radio, right behind the little cubby down there. You can pop off the side panel in the passenger floorboard and access it relatively easy. Just google “disconnect ANC module 2019 accord” or whatever year it was

Holy crap, yeah, way above my level. I was trying all different configurations of wire placement, etc. i’ll try that. Hopefully it fixes it. Thanks again man!!

Do you have a microsub installed into your Tacoma?

Put a 8” micro sub in my wife’s Honda Accord. I have a JL 10” in a box that I made myself in my Tacoma. I’ll tell you what though, to test it, I put that 8 inch micro sub in my truck and it sounded just as good as the 10 inch that I have. I have a 250 watt Kenwood amp powering mine. Crazy how good that little 8 inch micro sub sounded. definitely recommend

Yeah i thought about the 8inch into my truck because the box does fit nicely. I don’t need ground shaking bass either lol.

Originally I thought about it as well but despite what everyone says about the 8 inch being so good, I was still a little bit leery so I wanted to go with the 10 inch. For me, the 8 inch micro sub would definitely have been fine. Especially because it’s inside the cab of the truck. Sitting in the cubby would be a nice extra bonus. I do want a good bit of bass because I listen to hip-hop among other genres but I don’t need ground shaking either.

Do you have the exact model number on that amp? I'm curious on it's dimensions to see what fits alongside the CP108LG-W3v3.
