nice truck man! just read through the whole thing!

why did you get new rear shocks tho?
and if you wanted to fix your CV joints you'd just get a dif drop kit correct?

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

Thanks man I replaced the rear shocks after I installed the new rear springs and shock mounts because my 8.5" travel 5150's were just about topped out when flexing. And that's with new leafs once they broke in they would top out every time I flexed the rear so I just got some 10" travel and when i went off road I measured the extended length and it was 8.25" when flexed so after a week of driving the springs almost loosened up enough to max out the 8.5's. i should be at about 9" extended tops because of my shock location my location I'm not 1 to 1 on wheel/shock travel I still need to figure that measurement out.

I installed the Diff drop kit right when I installed my lift and on the 1st Gens it works great it dropped my Diff just about 1" and my angles were way better but the 2nd Gens it really don't do shit.

I went and bought a drop hitch last weekend and i needed a little more then a 8" drop. We measured it and I need a 16" drop  the longest one the trailer place had was 11" so I bought that for now just to pull a U haul trailer tomorrow.

Oh no they have them there about 250" the guy just didn't have any in stock so I just bought an 11" for now and if my trailer is sitting really high in the front I'll buy a longer one. I'm thinking the trailer will bring the ass end down at least an inch.

and the place I went to can have them custom made as long as 24"

16" drop!!! is that even safe? I suppose if it's a light load and a short trip it's okay.

    You getting your boat tomorrow?

    J,

I was in the same boat in regards to a hitch, I needed a 16.5" drop, after looking around and seeing them for $200. I decided to make my own. I just cut up my old 5.75" drop and extended it. quite easy and only took about an hr.
Just need some 3/4" plate and then some 1/2" x2" for a reinforcement on the back, beats spending $200
