With an unknown mileage count on the current serpentine belt I decided to go ahead and swap it out. I consider myself to be pretty handy with a wrench, but holy shit did this thing put up a fight. A prime example of 10lbs of shit on a 5lbs sack. Not a difficult job by any means but with big hands and big arms it was a struggle.

The old belt was in decent shape structurally and will be kept for a emergency spair but on a cold/wet morning she was starting to squeal

    Part # I used. 90916-02585

Tensioner is a 14mm and you will rotate counter clockwise.

    New Belt.

Old belt with noticeably work grooves

Total time was about 1hr for me including removing the skid plate and reinstalling.

After our last beach trip and the first time ive actually seen 90+ degrees OAT while using the fridge, i was impressed with the EB3A. With a fridge full of drinks, snacks, sandwhiches and bait and opening it up every 30min. The EB3A lasted a solid 8 hrs while keeping the fridge at 36 degrees and the compressor set to MAX on VL45PRO.

I do have a 120w solar panel but opted not to put it out just to see what kind of usuage i got out of the EB3A. When i bought my fridge it came with an insulated cover, i finalled got it out this weekend and put it on. I doubt it will be a "game changer" but i cant hurt.

Overall im still very happy with Iceco VL45PRO + EB3A combo.

The jungle store delivered the Scaneguage i ordered yesterday. Setup was a bit involved but pretty straight forward. I have mine sit up with Water Temp in the upper left. Voltage in the upper right. MPG avg in the lower left and Trans Temp in the lower right.

    20230711_182814.jpg

Programming the trans temp was involved but again straight forward. Ill post the screenshots from the ScanGuage website and mark the one that worked for me.

Will update this post when the mount from etsy shows up. For the time being i am using the supplied velcro mount.

Update : Scanguage mount came in and im very pleased. Molded to fit to the column and mounts very securely with double sided tape. For $13 bucks im very satisfied.

I have one in my Chevy 3500 and it let me know when the alternator crapped out on me. Was crazy seeing the voltage drop and then be back to normal. Nothing like cruising down 485 in the middle of the summer with the AC off and windows down hoping to make it home before the battery died!

Im actually pretty siked about having it, ive wanted one for a while. Ill probably never use it to its full potential but im excited to see actual numerical values and not just a needle sweeping across a guage face.

Another trip down. 410 miles driven, avg 15.4 mpg. She really likes <70 MPH. Really enjoyed having the ScanGuage on this first long drive since installing.

This was after about an 1.5 hrs on the road. Temps were steady and predictable.
    IMG_0256.jpg

Kept the insulated cover on the fridge and it without a doubt made a difference. Also had the solar panel up and running, def a very worth while investment. Here is a screenshot from the Bluetti app showing charge and consumption.

Anyways here is a pic dump of the day. Fishing wasnt the greatest and nothing was caught that was pic worthy but it still beats the hell out of sitting in front of the TV.

Another trip report : Linville Gorge, BRP, Black Mountain and Little Switzerland.

    Miles Traveled : 468
    Avg MPG : 12.2

Our trip started as we headed out for the Linville Gorge wilderness and a spot to camp on Old NC 105. Im usually not one to camp during the summer but we were chasing cooler temps as it was about 70 degrees at elevation. Stayed at spot we had stayed previously and enjoyed a night of fun, camp fires and smores ( a requirment by the 7 year old and a legit make or break game time decision)

We woke up saturday morning with every intention of eating breakfast, breaking down camp and heading back home. But it was long after waking up and getting the jetboil fired up we got a phone call. We were being invited to stay with my GF's mom that was staying in a cabin (more on that later) that was just a short drive down the parkway in Little Switzerland. We gladly accepted as i made a few phone calls to get coverage for work. We broke done camp and headed north towards linville falls and the BRP.

We stroled down to Wisemans view and enjoyed the scenery. 105 was pretty washed out in certain spots so It wasnt easy going for some travelers. We came across a single lady and her 4 small girls in a mazda SUV that had gotten high centered on some washouts and much to my dismay litterally moone was stopping to help. My concious wouldnt allow me to that so i got out the recovery gear and got this chick taken care of. We made out way down the parkway and on to the cabin.

The Cabin started life as a 1900's Tobacco barn in the upstate of SC. It was dismantled, moved and restored piece by piece. Im always honored to be able to spend as much time as possible here.
