    Gonna try and route my hose to engine bay tomorrow. I have it ziptied to the tire carrier at the moment and tossed excess in the back...

    Any ideas on how to secure without zip ties down the frame?

    Yeah I was thinking that, but pretty sure I'm just gonna attach with a hose clamp each time. It's no big deal really. Just gonna keep an 8mm socket and ratchet in the box.. Thinking I need to fashion a cap of some kind for the nizzle too, now that It's just a hose barb sticking out...

    It's still a good thought though. It would be cool to just have the spool ready to go on the back... But sounds like a lot of work for something I wouldn't use that often. Maybe once a month... It's for my female companion, aka wife.

    Tomorrow I'll be popping in a diehard platinum battery. Also gonna pick up a the Camry breather Union, since my hose is slipping off the nub on diff... Time and energy permitting I'm gonna zip tie the water hose along frame. If anyone has a better idea than zip ties, I'm all ears.

    You have better eyes than I do. Did not see it upside down.

    Oh, and Sears DieHard is a rebranded Odyssey. It is not an Optima.

    Yeah, all three are AGM types, however, the Optimas use a spiral cell design whereas the Odysseys/DieHards use the more traditional 'plate' design.

    I just read enough that it sketched me out a bit :-/ dual batt for me in the future, might consider trying them then. At least if one goes bad out in the wilderness, you have backup!

    I'll admit, I am an Optima fanboy. I have been running redtops and now yellow tops for a long time.

    The current group 35 yellow top is 4 years old and going strong. Only paid $140 for it too.
