You'll need spacers then. Or you'll rub the frame.

It's harder on the steering rack big time. Turning without moving its not nice to the rack ha

More stress on cvs and tie rods too.

If it's not a dd and you can have it on jack stands for as long as you want. Go for it.

If it's a dd. Id still stick with 33s. The amount of trails you can do with 35 instead of 33 is freaking small.

Just saying. Overall investment...not really worth it. It's cool sure and nice sometimes. But I know on my double cab, I'll never go over 33s

Either way. At the end of the day it's your money and truck. Haha

Yeah, I hear you. Thanks for the input. Will take that into consideration certainly. Tonto27 gave me a nice range review of his 5.29s on 33's so I think I'll go that route. No rush to get 35's so I can wait a bit on that.. but since my diff is needing to be removed to stop the leak, that eeds to be addressed sooner than later, and figured it is time for regear anyways :)

As a side note, my wife fractured the nevicular bone in her right foot this evening... My right foot also has a fractured nevicular and needs surgery.

That sucks for both of you.

Unfortunately, that bone takes forever to heal. It does not have good blood flow. Hope the surgery goes well for you.

Thanks man, yeah I hope so too. Getting tired of being señor gimp. Hers is gnarly, think its much worse than mine was initially - after all I was able to get around fine for 5 months, probably put 50 miles in hunting alone... Hers is like black and blue and looks like crap. We shall see what the orthopedic specialist says... I may go in for a second opinion too lol.

    You in med field?

Excellent info Monte....I was recently considering going 35's, but it doesn't sound like I should.

Yea it really seems like a ton of people are saying they want 35s. Which to me is silly because almost all of them either would never utilize them or realize how expensive an endeavor it is.

33s are the tire for tacomas.

Yeah, as a patient. :p I've had many foot issues over the years. I had a stress fracture of the navicular bone in my right foot years ago. No surgery but a long healing process. I got a pretty good idea of what you guys are dealing with.

You'll be ok, it really isn't that bad. Just go slow and be safe. The tough part was just fenangling it into and out of place once the bolts are loosened.
Maybe I'm missing something but it really doesn't seem like that big of a jump to a 35. I mean yeah you need regear and yeah the tubbing, and yeah, there will be a degree more of stress on components from the extra weight, but can't imagine it is that bad. I just haven't seen an overwhelming number of issues directly related to the presence of 35's. But maybe I haven't been paying close enough attention. I've got about 9 months before I will be looking for tires, if not more, so I'll just keep my radar tuned for 35 talk.
Dang, well, that sucks. Sounds about right. Going to orthopedic specialist tomorrow with wife... fingers crossed.

To clarify, I guess I've just seen so many people totally bash on their rigs without regard to stress on the components, that I am somewhat hesitant to blame every report of a broken cv or tierod on the tire. I mean in terms of weight, a bfg km2 35x12.5 15 weighs less than a 285/75 16 treadwright guard dog tire, yet I hear no advice for people to not run them because of weight and parts stress. Can't help but think there is a little stigma against the 35" tire.

It's more then weight. It's rotating mass. That is more stress.

Again, I love my 35s. I have no regrets on Frank. What I'm saying is that the amount of money and effort you have to put in to run 35s...it's not really worth it. Especially on a dd.

They way I see it, if you want 35s, put on some 35s. Seems funny to get to this point in a build, and only now decide to hold back to prevent excess vehicle wear. Just my .02

True true. Thanks for the insight everyone. I'll mull it over for awhile. In the meantime, gonna beat the he'll out of my 33's and stock gears :) should be ordering new gears, 5.29s, in a month or two. So stoked to get my power back and not be stressing about leaking diff :burnrubber:

Still no skids. Man has fedex service really gone to crap. But I'm being lazy anyways, still haven't cut the rack protection piece off my ifs skid for fitment, and need to get the new ball joints in too. Probably gonna do it all next weekend while the wife is out of town. Here is the skid prepped for paint. It was looking pretty bad, but that's what they are for :) I also cleaned the interior, kind of. It's just gonna get dirty again at Eagles lakes.

Paint booth... they ran out of semi gloss so I'm using satin. I hate satin cuz it's not forgiving on us crappy spray painters.

This came in with skids so will be hooking it up when I have some free time. Thanks again ryan for an excellent product and good service. And also screw fedex lol!

Nice bro, bet you can't wait to bash on those. Yea fedex definitely sucks, they gave me a hard time each time I tried to ship my diffs back to ECGS.

Sweet, looks good John! I'm glad they didn't fuck up the blue sea. I would have been irate after the hassle they created. They keep picking up my packages so I guess they don't hate me too much yet.

Yeah, but you packed that super well, haha. Smart way to pack it. They used to be really good, but I'd say about 4 years ago they dropped the ball big time and started hiring the biggest losers.

You'll have to share the preferred method on packing diffs when I'm ready :) still planning about a month or two until those.

Lol I think I used a full roll of clear packing tape between the two diffs. They send it to you in a pretty skimpy cardboard box, just use the same packaging they sent to you so fedex doesn't have an excuse to charge you extra.
