Here's another one from our trip through Arizona. I think it's called "Edge of the world road" or something like that.

 

That place is beautiful, too.

I wish there was a fast way that I could get to that side of the country in my truck. Might have to rent one lol

We weren't even planning on being in Arizona for this trip. We had planned a week up around Mammoth but CA Forest Service closed down all California National Forest during our trip due to fire danger and risks. The 3 of us took vacation time off and we salvaged our trip by driving to AZ. I bought the car brand new and had 2k miles on it in a 2 weeks lol.

 

Sounds like you lucked up and found another great spot.

Be my luck I'd drive from GA to there and all of the parks would be closed. I'd feel like Clark Griswold when they got to Wally World on National Lampoons Vacation. lol

 

We did get lucky! We learned that it might be best to avoid CA Forests during the summer months. After we got kicked out we just hit the road and planned on the fly. We spent 1 day in the truck for almost 9 hours, that was from Mammoth to Sedona, so we drove through half of Nevada North to South. Sedona was the only thing that sounded reasonable because it was hot everywhere else. Saw 106°F+ through Nevada.
