guess the economy is really that bad? I enlisted in June and started basic in Sep.

A friend of mine waited almost a year for basic and came back, then waited almost another year for his tech school.

yep you guessed it.......STILL WAITING ON MEPS....i go into my recruiters office every now and then and ask whats up and i get the same BS...."well the school is still on the table for evaluation....just keep your ear open for a phone call over the next week or so....I mean i know stuff takes time but damn, this is taking forever. I just kinda feel like im getting dicked around and i dont like it. I know the air force is harder to get into and it usually takes a little longer but by the time thet get my stuff done im gonna be 26 and not able to join. I accually considered leaving his office today and talking to a army or marine recruiter......

you should talk to the army and MC anyways... just to cover all your bases.

have you tried to contact your recruiter's CO? i'd start getting in contact with those above him.

also look into going guard. if you want to go PJ, guard is the better route. the 123rd in KY and the 106th in NY are both PJ guard bases

or you can come out here to sunny CA and join the 129th

I got lucky with my timing for MEPs. Some people have waited almost a year, and we have a guy that's been in P.T for 2 years

you have every right to be angry... 5 months to go to MEPS is unacceptable. 5 months in DEP is normal... but your still far from that

    good luck bud

I've been in for 8 yrs now myself (AF). It has its ups and downs like anything else. I have/have had family members in all branches of the service. I'll put it this way, I'm glad I chose this path. I apologize in advance for not reading this thread entirely, (short for time) but do you know what AFSC you are looking at going into?
