you have to be an officer to be a pilot in the AF... to be an officer you have to have a 4 yr degree

you can pilot in the army as enlisted once you become a warrant officer, but that takes time to be eligible to test for warrant

...In the Chair Force...Nah man I'm just kidding , anyone from any branch serving their country has my respect. My whole family's military and I want to be a cop so I get the whole service aspect. :infantry: Good luck with your future career.

I already have 2 semesters of college under my belt. i will be doing another this fall make use of my DEP time. in time i will have my bachelors and when the airforce gets over the cutting officer thing i may try to become a officer. My thought path was that if i ever met the right girl and had a family and all the crap i would end up getting a less life threatning job in the military.

If you want to fly for the Army you can enlist for it. Once you finish Basic you will go To Fort Rucker for the Warrant Officer Candidate School which is six weeks. Once you finish that you are appointed as a Warrant Officer 1. You then go to Flight School.

i was wondering something...would it be possible to go through indoc as enlisted and ride the pipeline, and squeeze in OTS before it done and become a CRO instead?

If you are nervous at all about basic, don't be.. just don't make yourself a target and they will focus on those people that do... Basic was done and over with before I knew it, they don't even give you time to think.

negative. the pipeline for PJ and CRO's is very similar but different. CRO's have a selection course to go through before getting to indoc, it would be bad to have officers quit during ETD.

Well as far as TACP goes, I spent 4 years at Hurlburt Field and have a close friend who completed the TACP tech-school at Hurby, however he was later re-classed during jump school due to injuring his lower back on landing. If you can stand the humidity you will love your time at Hurlburt Field. Base is great and so is the surrounding area. Best of luck on whatever you decide.

i was referring to after finishing indoc...start it enlisted and finish the pipeline commissioned...as far as I can tell, CRO's take an extra Joint-Ops course

thats what i'm saying... CRO's have to do a selection course BEFORE heading off to indoc. you can't start the pipeline training for PJ and finsih as a CRO

the only reason being they dont want the officers to look bad and quit or fail half way through or on etd, so the selection course weeds them out a little earlier

the only pool that is deep enough for drown proofing is a hour away....i have pretty much been doing single breath sub-surface 25m underwater swims...trying to get my body use to being oxygen deprived.

good. practicing underwaters is super smart. what time intervals are you doing? grad standards are 1:30 for 5 times... but if you can do 2:00-2:30 your doing well

water con is def harded than drown proofing

any luck getting ahold of sombody higher up the food chain than your lazy ass recruiter?

I would put money on the fact that he's boxed for the year and is sandbagging the OP for the next FY.

Even if there there are no school seats this FY there is no reason the OP couldn't have been scheduled for MEPS by now.
