I think the OP intended the title to be "how long until the cops notice".

Yep depends on how it's enforced. If the cop sits on the side of the road with an automatic plate scanner, this would be triggered and prompt the cop pull him over. Then the cop could charge him under ORS 803.550.

The fun police came out in force on this thread. I thought it was funny.

Maybe in Portland. But once you get out of the Metro area, this is highly unlikely.

I see it in GA quite a bit.
No front plate required there, so lots of variety in what people put in it's place. Other state plates, other country plates, mil service plates, etc.

Was lucky enough to grow up with a 81’ Delorean in the family. Dad loved the movies and passed that on to me

Right? That plate normally just sits in the window, I honestly just put it on there for the picture and to see a few reactions

I thought that was cool when I was 16. Now I'm like it's just another license plate you paid money for. It was also much cooler on cars from the 90s, and the internet didn't exist.

One of the things that gave me a good laugh as a tow operator. Was towing a GTI for outstanding parking tickets, and for what ever reason cops took the plates. Plates had security screws so you just rip the rear one off, and the front had a tow hook plate bracket. Cop says just give me the whole bracket. The look on the kids face when I told him you have to visit the officer to get your tag bracket. Nice car, and the only mod was the bracket.

Are you talking about the light bar not being covered? Most police run them on their cruisers around here. Won’t give you any trouble unless they’re lit up on a more populated road when it’s dark out

In IL front plates are required. But for 16yrs have not had one on my convertible as it just looks better without. Only drive car few times a year, but it has never been an issue. Do keep it in trunk just in case.
