An unproven platform isn’t really qualified to place second (whatever Ford), and boy am I tired of the critic shills telling everyone to buy a Ridgeline. Honda must throw some pretty good after-parties.

    The thing is this:

Most truck buyers don’t read Tacoma World, and most likely select a truck based on what they think offers them the best value for their money. They’ll be a few “GM Men” in the stats who would never drive an “import”, but mostly, average people, buy the best option they can afford.

The fact that Ridgeline sales suck so horribly is proof enough for me that most people don’t find it to be “#1” in their mind. These charts just invalidate the critics as they keep saying Ridgeline is #1, but people keep passing on buying one.

    Attention Honda:

We don’t hate your brand here, we just don’t want to buy that truck you keep winning awards with. Get a proper body-on-frame pickup, with some more inspired styling, and you could do quite well.

The Ridgeline took home an award. It's an innovative vehicle with a polarizing design.

The Ranger is highly anticipated and will attract a lot of buyers. It will certainly out-feature the Tacoma and provide a level of comfort over and above what Toyota is willing to offer.

The Gladiator looks to make a sizable impact. It's offroad prowess out of the box looks impressive.

But none of those trucks had a fucking WAR named after them:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_War

And none of them are war chariots:

A Ridgeline is a total joke and basically meets none of my needs, I would never consider it.

Based on the sales figures nobody is trading anything in for them.

I'll be honest, was considering a gladiator until I saw that w/manual, it'd tow like 4500lbs and less as a Rubicon

I don't need to tow a ton, but if I'm getting small truck with a manual, I want it to haul a bit

I definitely prefer the look and feel of the Tacoma... And knowing nothing about the longevity about the turbo 4, I can say that driving a ranger at the auto show left me impressed. If my left leg were amputated and I could no longer drive a stick, I'd take the Ranger over the Taco based on powertrain alone. Way more low end than our V6, supposedly better fuel economy, and a far less offensive transmission.

One thing I haven't seen people mention about the Ranger but that would've really bugged me. The rear seat isn't a split fold. All cargo or all passengers.

Wow that seems like a major fail that it's not a split folding rear seat.

The Ridgeline is probably the most hideous "truck" I have ever seen. When I see them on the road I assume there is something wrong with the person driving it. A front drive vehicle shouldn't even be in consideration, let alone claiming the top spot, of that competition. Wtf Car and Driver...

At least Honda changed it to look like a truck instead a Birth Defect.
