    Is it a driving dumpster?

To me, it's easy to see that report ranked them from oldest to newest. The editor obviously likes "new! shiny! things!"
I can agree that the Ridgeline would meet 80% of pickup buyer's needs. Child seats in the back and still be useful for that Saturday trip to Home Depot. I wanted to look at the new Ridgeline when I was shopping. But not many at all near me, and they were $37K and up. I wanted a basic truck which is why the Tacoma SR was my choice. That, and my past history with several Toyotas lasting me and my family for almost 20 years.

There is bound to be a fluke buyer somewhere out there that should have never been in a Tacoma in the first place

My neighbor has an '18 Blue Ridgeline. He keeps coming over when his wife takes it to the Grocery store and I am in the garage. He stares at my Tacoma...licking his lips and slapping both ears with his tongue. It's obvious, but I don't push any buttons. Neighbor you know. Keep the peace.

Based on Ridgeline's 27,000 sales vs Tacomas 224,000 sales... it's not even in the same league.
Why is it even a topic of discussion ?

Great example of why reviews, polls, etc. mean nothing these days. Wouldn't be surprised if the reviewer was benefiting somehow, at the least probaley biased. Everyone knows Toyota trucks are the go to brand for durability, dependability, etc, etc, been that way for decades now.

The rangers gonna sell, saw my first one in person today. They look great imo (always loved the Hilux look), boxed frame, “American”, the interior is fantastic, 10 gears, best power numbers out right now. It’s a no brained that it’s going to sell. I won’t ever have one because of the power plant and no manual option, without a left foot option I’m not a buyer for anything.

To car and driver, they’re ridiculous, calling body on frame old school. They instantly disqualified themselves from being able to actually review a vehicle based on application with that statement. I also love how all of these reviewers downplay the whole reliability aspect. They always attribute Toyota’s with being reliable yet score them low still, isn’t the damn vehicle being a vehicle the greatest characteristic of it? I stopped paying attention to them a long time ago, sales figures don’t lie. Every publication has ranked the ridgeline #1 it seems, yet how are them sales doin? Lol spades a spade.

The hood line is part of the fender. Don't like it.

And that’s fine, it really is a good looking truck in my eyes tho. It’s a seller in my book, however, I didn’t mention that that particular truck is a loaded lariat with a reasonably priced sticker of 46.8k!! which is insane. When you compare that to a trd pro putting yourself in an unbiased 3-year new car perspective though, this beats a pro all day with features. You can even lock the rear in 2hi! I was kinda impressed by that lol, I do a bunch of work for that dealership so I immediately hopped in and fucked with all of the 4wd bits. They also engaged almost instantly on/off about 10 times pretty quickly, the same cannot be said for Toyota’s much of the time. Did the same thing in a ‘19 t4r pro that was stationary and it was a 3-4 minute ordeal getting the front diff sleeve to make up its mind.
