Was thinking about taking a trip to Jones Pass, CO in May or June of this year. Anyone been up there? Any must haves to bring in the Taco. I have a bone stock '15 DCLB TRD-SPRT but from what I've researched it's an easy trail up.

I think we will stay a night in Denver to adjust before driving up to 12,000 feet. I don't want Altitude sickness to ruin our fun.

Here's a site with some info on it for those who don't know.

so we have no snow right now but usually passes take a long time to open up and the snow to melt up high. i would reach out before you drive up here and see. the forest service is a great start.

also bring gear to self rescue, walk out or stay in the truck all night.

I'd love to do Alpine Loop, but my fiance is super against anything challenging in our new bone stock Taco. Plus she doesn't like the whole idea of being on the edge of a cliff. Jones Pass would be a great starting point to get her into the Idea of offroad driving. I wanted to take her to Magruder Corridor in Utah, but she said it was too far. If you have some suggestions, I'd be happy to check them out. Just can't be anything hard for the truck. Not until I get some suspension upgrades and some steelies to thrash on. Lot of medical bills currently so mods have taken a back burner for the foreseeable future.
