I got this truck a couple years ago. I have since lifted it, put bigger tires and rims on, and other random mods.
This is how it currently sits.

I plan to add a roll bar, and then some lights, I eventually want to add off road bumpers, and a winch is a must, up in VT, theres not many trails, and theres more mud pits.

A couple days ago I put on this LED strip, its a Rampage 49 inch 4 function. It works good and makes it look better.

I painted the exhaust from the cat back, a flat black. I used a high heat spray paint.

I'm a fan of flat black especially underneath. The skid plate on the front is also a flat black

    MUD TIRES

I put my mud tires that I had on my *cough* *cough* nissan xterra. They're BFG Mud terrain T/A KM2's in 33x10.5/15. I also tossed on 2 inch wheel spacers. I did a couple tests to see how much space I had to work with.

I would, but I'm going to see what I get for gas mileage with the mud tires, I liked getting 22, so they might go back on for long trips, they only had 1000 miles on them, the mud tires have about 2000. I like the other rims more than the stock painted ones though.

Hey man, I have a 2001 trd and I think my stock rims are a little different than yours, but how did you paint them black?

Was it professionally done or kinda back yard stuff.

    Any info is appreciated!

    Thanks!

    looks great tho

My truck isn't TRD, its the base model, doesn't even have a clock, that may be why the rims are different. I painted them black the most backyard way possible, I ground all the paint off until it was bare metal, then I primed a few coats, then gloss black paint, then a clear coat. This is all spray paint. They came out pretty good though. my other rims came black stock, and they look better, but I wanted to keep them with my other tires.

Overall the rims cost 40 bucks to paint, if you find the right brands.

Today I was checking out my truck, like I usually do on an hourly basis, I looked at the leafs are pretty much flat, and when I flexed the suspension, they turn upside down, is that supposed to happen.(I'm kinda a noob when it comes to some stuff)

I hit a bear with the Taco. And it survived, with minor steering damage. The bear on the other hand, did not have such good luck. I'd post some pics, but they are a bit bloody.

Wow, I haven't been on in forever. Backed the machine into the side of the garage a couple weeks ago. Nasty scratch down her side, busted taillight, she needs some work now.
