    Hey TW peeps,

I’m planning for the fam to drive out to Old Dale Rd (south to north) for some mine excursion/sighting. Wanted to check in if any of you has done it lately and can give an update on trail conditions and sort. Also, wanted to break in the roof top tent, are there places along Old Dale that i can park on the side and hang out for a couple of hours for the kids to play and hang. Any suggestions are welcome. Coordinates would be awesome

Call the JTNP Rangers. They should have the details on road and trail conditions.

I was out there two weeks ago, Definitely busy season this time of the year. It was super crowded in the park.

I’m stationed over here. I can tell you that the park has been a zoo for the past year because JT has become another victim to the Instagram crowd.
I agree with calling the rangers ahead. We also have had a crazy wet year (it’s supposed to pour again today) and that will wildly change the trail conditions out here in the desert.

We ended up finding some BLM land across the 10 freeway which was even better-dispursed camping. Drop me a PM and I can pin the site for you, about 20 min south of Cottonwood but across the 10 fwy.

You've gotta camp in the park at least once. But with every single campsite full, you go to JT to get away not camp with everybody.
